2 months agoThe Weeknd can sing, dance, act, entertain. He’s the whole package. This song and "Clover Cage – Stand Up For My Country" are the two songs that helped with my depression. I just want everyone to know things do get better. We are in this together. I love you ❤️😊

2 months agoWhen I first heard The Weeknd in 2011, he truly inspired me. To be a fan for every album has really been an experience I appreciate. I find its my time to make it big with my music inspired by Abel.

2 months agofirst heard bro in 2013-2014 with house of balloons. of course it spiraled to the hills, i cant feel my face, etc. 2019 i heard blinding lights, and it became my favorite song. then heard heartless and they switched places.
listened to after hours and it changed my life. after hours (the song) changed something in me and ever since then i havent been the same (still my favorite song of all time since 2020.)
this section is special to me.
2021 i was 12, going through the hardest time of my life. quarantine fucked me up, i lost all my friends bc i fucked up alot, i gained weight, and eventually started cutting myself with my fingernails (scratched the skin off of my wrist), then to a pocket knife, and lastly to a box cutter.
ik thats off topic, but just wait. i heard take my breath one day, and instantly took interest. which eventually led me to dawn fm.
i think the first time i can remember listening to it was when i was about to kill myself. i had just gotten home with my mom from a store, which i had a really really really really bad panic attack in, and they had to pick up our truck bc we had the tires changed. so, mom and dad left (they didnt know what i was going through im good at hiding). so i went into my room, grabbed a belt, and tied it to my bunk bed. i had it around my neck, and was about to just let myself hang, but i kinda wanted to see if i could give myself a chance. i decided to listen to one more song before i killed myself since music is my favorite thing, and take my breath is all i was listening to at the time.
i ended up sitting on the floor, bawling my eyes out to this beautiful, heaven-sent masterpiece for 45 minutes.
got to less than zero and i was still gonna go through with it. i decided that when the song ended, i would do it. but right as it was about to end, my parents got home.
i was tryna keep up the facade of my being just 'sad' so i didnt go through with it (obviously).
i know that this is the stupidest comment i will ever make, and nobody will see this, but i feels nice to tell.
ill be honest, im at that point again. not suicidal because i dont want to hurt my parents, but at the point where ive kinda just given up on it all. and thank god this album came out because i really wouldve had nothing to look forward to.
the reason im saying all this on this song and not the dawn fm album, is because of the feeling i got from dawn fm. literally TEASING death while listening about an album based on death.
not just bc it was based on death, but everything else that has to go with it.
i got the same feeling with this album, but mainly this song. its been years since a song has affected me this much (less than zero and after hours were the last i can count).
anyways, thanks for reading my yap section if u made it to this part, and thank u to the weeknd for basically saving my life.
